I'm Fiona, an Irish girl living in the UK. Lead singer in rock/pop band Alter Ego, I have a passion for fashion and great music! I own far too many clothes and some very cool photographers take photos of me wearing them all!
I hope my blog reaches people who share my obsession with fashion, style and beautiful things! Thanks for stopping by!
Everyone who reads my Blog knows how much I love Emma Manley's work; between her and Natalie B Coleman, Irish fashion really has become a force to be reckoned with in the industry and I can't get enough of their incredible designs. Let me introduce you to 'Leigh', the latest addition to my ever growing Manley collection. This fabulous purple jersey dress with it's cleverly layered chiffon front will flatter every woman's shape! It's bodycon without being clingy, it's ladylike without being prim and it's simple yet still manages to be cool as heck! It would look equally at home in an office or in a Cocktail Bar. For it's very first outing, I styled it with fabulous Christian Louboutin cream, studded shoes & a beautiful gold charm bracelet for an effortlessly cool look. I read somewhere that the Manley woman is a complex creature - a romantic with a hint of urban cool. That describes the Manley aesthetic perfectly. Check out Emma's sensational SS13 collection on her website; I have pre-ordered most of it! Get The Look:
Look! It's a Winter Kate dress! Again. I can't help it though, they are all so freakin’ fabulous & I adore everything Nicole Richie designs; the girl can do absolutely no wrong in my book! This beautiful dress is from her Winter Kate AW12 collection (it was a fab Christmas present from my bestie) and is one of those great pieces that can take you from day to night effortlessly. The vibrant shade of red is a great Winter colour and I couldn't resist going outside for a snowy Blog shoot; I love how it pops against the white snow! Made from 100% silk chiffon, the dress features a round neck, keyhole button closure at the back, 3/4 length sheer sleeves with button cuffs and sits just above the knee. The blue, vein-like pattern takes it from being cute & girly to cool, edgy and interesting.
I styled this bold dress with one of my favourite House of Harlow necklaces (another terrific Nicole Richie brand) and a classic pair of Christian Louboutin shoe boots. I love how the glimpse of red soul compliments the scarlet dress perfectly! Get The Look:
'Matilda' is a cool, bohemian style embroidered duffel coat from Savannah Miller's first ever solo collection. I've blogged about her Savannah brand before (see here) and my love affair with her super cool, contemporary designs, is showing no signs of abating!
The Matilda coat is gorgeous & has already been style spotted on British actress and style icon Anna Friel! It is fully lined & features large buttons to the front, a cute hood, two buttoned front pockets and intricate colourful embroidery detail on the front, hem, hood & cuffs.
On a cold, blustery day out, I styled it with J Brand skinny jeans, a simple black tee & Karen Millen suede ankle boots for a warm, comfy, laid back look!
The Savannah brand is available exclusively at nelly.com; it's well worth a look!
I'm still buying pieces from Twenty8twelve's fabulous AW12 collection; it is the collection that just keeps on giving! My latest purchase is the stunning 'Casey' dress. Featuring a bold floral print against a bright green background, Casey is a vision to behold! Princess seams on the body of the dress highlight womanly curves beautifully while an uneven, high/low hem adds a very flirty feel to an otherwise ladylike silhouette. The demure round neck and 3/4 length sleeves add to the ladylike vibe. This the easiest dress in the world to style; the vivid colour & floral pattern do all the work so I simply added a pair of black Christian Louboutin peep-toe shoes & my ever present delicate silver jewellery from Tiffany & Co.
This beautiful, silk Winter Kate dress was a fabulous Christmas present from my lovely Husband a couple of years ago. It is one of the easiest items of clothing to wear; I just slip it on & I am literally good to go!
I love the ivory colour with the contrasting black trim detail, it's a great way to do monochrome. The loose, three quarter length sleeves & feminine, trapeze shape give this vintage inspired dress a very romantic, ethereal feel but I decided to toughen the look up a little here. I styled it with black tights, my much loved Jeffrey Campbell Litas and some fierce gold jewellery by House of Harlow & ASOS.
The lipstick I'm wearing is the fantastic neon pink 'Impassioned' by MAC; I couldn't believe my luck when it arrived in the post and I am absolutely besotted with this beautiful, bright colour!
