All About Eve

I was in Dublin a couple of weeks ago and had the very great pleasure of visiting Emma Manley's Studio to see where all the Manley magic happens! I had a sneaky peek at her stunning A/W14 collection (oh just you wait til you see it!!) and I got to play dress up in some of my favourite pieces from the current Manley collection. Best of all, I left with a bag full of delicious Manley goodies!

This dress is glorious! I'd had my eye on it from the moment I saw it in the Manley Lookbook months ago. I already have it in pink (blogged here) but I couldn't resist the great teal colour. Beautiful 'Eve' has a perforated leather front and back panel. The leather is hand cut with a scalloped edge & features Manley's signature gold stud detail. The jersey side panels are flared with ties on both sides of the leather front and back panels.

I matched the magnificent teal colour of the dress with a beautiful teal patent clutch from Twenty8twelve and then clashed the whole look up with the most wonderful pink Christian Louboutin shoes.

I must say a huge big thanks to Emma for such a great time in her Dublin studio; she is beautiful, ridiculously talented & definitely the Hostess with the mostest (Hubby says thank you for feeding him!). What a great thrill it was for this Manley Girl to be let loose in her idea of fashion Heaven!

White Lace & Promises

I kept seeing this beautiful white lace top from Whistles everywhere; online, in shops, in magazines and I always intended to buy it. But I dawdled and when I finally got around to getting it, it was sold out in my size, everywhere! Turns out it's been Whistles biggest seller of the season; not at all surprising.

I rang every Whistles store hoping that one size 8 was lurking in a dark corner, forgotten, waiting to be mine. As luck would have it, one was lurking somewhere, in Richmond to be exact. My Hubby drove me there & in my excitement I bought the top without trying it on. Of course when I got home and tried it on, I discovered it was absolutely HUGE on me!! I was so disappointed but there was nothing for it, I had to return it.

A week later, we were in Westfield Shopping Centre in London. There is a Whistles store in Westfield. While we were browsing there I was astonished to see one lonely, lovely WHITE LACE TOP! Massive excitement. In a teeny tiny size 4. Massive disappointment. I decided to try it on regardless of the tiny size and can you believe, it fit me like a glove!!! I couldn't buy it quick enough.

And wasn't it worth all that drama? A beautiful modern take on the lace trend, the 'Leith' top features a loose yet structured fit, all-over delicate white lace, a short zip to the back & on the sleeves. It is finished off with a gorgeous scalloped hem trim.

For a relaxed chic look I paired mine with my favourite skinny jeans & the cool over-the-knee boots I am wearing everywhere at the moment!

I Believe In Pink

My t-shirt obsession is showing no signs of abating. This is no bad thing of course as you simply can't have too many great tees; it is an impossible thing.

I saw this stunning Lennon Courtney silk t-shirt when I was in Dublin recently. I very stupidly didn't buy it & I'd been kicking myself ever since. My lovely Husband (who I'm sure was sick of hearing me droning on and on about it) very sweetly said he would treat me to it for our Wedding Anniversary, so we popped into Wolf & Badger in Notting Hill on a sunny Saturday afternoon to buy it.

When we got there, who did we bump into but the Designers, Sonya Lennon & Brendan Courtney themselves!! You just couldn't make something like that happen! They are as charming as they are talented and I was in heaven for the next hour or so, talking fashion with them over a few of glasses of Prosecco! It was such a pleasure to meet them both as I am a huge fan of their amazing designs.

My Husband whisked me off to our favourite restaurant that evening for a wonderful surprise night of delicious food & cocktails; I wore my beautiful new top, paired with a gorgeous Lennon Courtney skirt & a great pair of Zebra print Manolo Blahnik shoes. I wore it again the next day (thank goodness I didn't dribble cocktails down the front!), dressed down with cute boyfriend jeans & towering metallic Dior heels.

In a vibrant, hot pink this top is a luxurious reinvention of the classic tee. A basic t-shirt shape, it features short sleeves, single button closure to the neck and is 100% silk. It has an easy, relaxed fit and the breathtaking colour makes it a real standout piece. I've never been questioned or complimented so much about an item of clothing, everyone fell in love with it!

Tell Me About It... Stud

We all know that Karen Millen is the go to High Street store for glamorous cocktail dresses, sexy party heels and statement leather jackets. Right? Well did you know that they also have a fantastic collection of casual, off-duty pieces?

I've been stocking up on good t-shirts and I found two of the best in Karen Millen. The pocket detail tee in grey - a relaxed fit, short sleeved jersey t-shirt with silver studded pocket detail; and the Devore tee in indigo - a round neck, denim look jersey t-shirt with studded neckline detail.

For my first look I styled the grey t-shirt with my favourite skinny jeans and the most amazing Christian Louboutin studded ankle boots. These boots are my favourite footwear and cause a hell of a stir every time they come out to play! I love that the studs on the boots match the studded pocket detail on the tee so perfectly.

For my second look I styled the indigo Devore t-shirt with the same skinny jeans, my lovely black satchel and a great pair of over-the-knee boots. The studded neckline detail on this t-shirt give it a cool, subtle rock & roll edge.

I love these two looks; they are much more casual and pared down than usual for me. The t-shirts are great investment pieces, perfect for any girls off-duty, downtime wardrobe.

Dakota Flair

My ever growing Manley collection recently welcomed this little beauty into the fold; the Dakota Flair dress is one of those pieces you can dress up, dress down and wear absolutely anywhere. It is gorgeous!

The dress, in a delicate nude pink colour, features a perforated leather front and back panel. The leather is hand cut with a scalloped edge and is studded with Manley's signature conical antique gold studs. The jersey side panels are flared and ties come from either side of the leather front and leather back panels.

I styled the dress with metallic heels from Dior & a cute ASOS feather clutch bag for a cool, dressy look. Simple as that.

Shark Attack

I love Kymerah and this impossibly cool t-shirt is one of my favourite pieces from their stunning S/S14 collection. A great tee is so hard to find but this one is just perfection! Slouchy without being baggy, a great lightweight style without being see-through and it is the perfect length, not too long, not too short. The shark motif gives it the cool factor and the great grey colour goes with everything. Everyone who has seen me wear this t-shirt wants one; women and men!

I first wore my new tee to one of my now regular Sushi nights with my Husband; pairing it with a great pair of Boyfriend style jeans, the most fabulous pair of Christian Louboutin shoes (check out the stud detail!) and my trusty black satchel from the Cambridge Satchel Co.

Spring is finally in the air in dear ol' Blighty so I am cautiously ditching heavy coats for lighter jackets and blazers. The 'Zora' blazer from Savannah features an open front, a lightweight lining, two pockets to the front and jetted pocket on the inside. It is a loose fitting boyfriend style, a great layering piece for a sharp tailored look.
