Bella

Teal is one of my favourite colours to wear at the moment; a bluish-green colour said to radiate the peace, calm and tranquillity of blue, the balance and growth of green and the uplifting energy of yellow.

This gorgeous teal jumper from Emma Manley's SS14 collection is a great basic piece; it's one of those easy to wear items of clothing every girl needs to have in her wardrobe. 'Bella' is a double-layered wool and linen mix jumper. The under layer sits hip length, is fitted and made from a heavier wool than the flared outer layer that sits waist length at the front and slightly longer at the back.

I styled my Bella jumper very casually with my go-to skinny jeans, a cool satchel & the best pair of over-the-knee boots on the planet; the 50/50's by Stuart Weitzman.

Angry Bunny

The 'Angry Bunny' print on this cool Alexander McQueen sweatshirt was inspired by a rabbit costume worn by the late, great Lee Alexander McQueen at the end of his S/S09 show. The brand has created a range of very special pieces featuring the image for it's S/S14 collection.

Initially I didn't know there would be some 'Angry Bunny' pieces in McQueen's womenswear collection. I fell in love with the print though and tried hard to get a lovely friend to treat himself to the great menswear t-shirt version... someone had to have it as it is such a ridiculously cool, sexy piece! He didn't buy it in the end (gah!) and seriously, I came THIS close to buying it for myself and getting my Tailor to remake it to fit my Hobbit size body!

Thankfully I held fire and before long, some fabulous girly pieces were launched. I got the sweatshirt rather than the t-shirt for myself as, well, quite frankly, a girl simply can't have too many great sweaters. Just like shoes really; there is no such thing as 'too many'. It's the law.

This funky little jumper is a real investment piece; made from black cotton-jersey, it features the multicoloured (Charcoal, dusty-blue, white and red) 'Angry Bunny' print on the front, a round neck, long sleeves and ribbed-jersey neckline, cuffs and hemline. It has the softest fleece interior to keep me warm.

It is the perfect off-duty sweater and I already know that I will wear it until it falls apart. It will add the cool factor to any jeans style, long skirts, short skirts and as seen here, an old beat-up pair of denim shorts. I added comfy ankle boots and a bright red satchel to my look for a glorious Spring day playing amongst the Bluebells in a picturesque Woodland.

Goodbye Girl

Winter Kate, one of my favourite brands of all time, is no more. It's gone. Finished. The end. Fear not however as Winter Kate's super-talented Designer, Nicole Richie, is continuing to design clothes; adding a ready-to-wear line to her wonderful accessories brand, House Of Harlow 1960.

The new clothing range is just as beautiful as Winter Kate and a whole lot more affordable! And, the quality hadn't suffered a jot in relation to the lower prices; I took it upon myself to buy some pieces so that I could check this out for you all personally... I know, I know, no need to thank me. My new purchases will be coming to a blog near you very soon.

In the meantime, to mark the end of a great fashion era I give you the stunning Winter Kate Kimono Maxi Dress; an iconic piece from the brand and one of my all time favourites. Winter Kate is dead, long live House Of Harlow 1960; I look forward to getting to know you very very well indeed in the coming Seasons!

Straight Jacket

I recently did a blog post post about Karen Millen's fantastic off-duty pieces (see here). I've since added this gorgeous little jacket to my collection.

A great Springtime layering piece, the soft washed cotton quilted jacket features a collarless neckline & cool zipped cuffs. Although, strictly speaking, this isn't a denim jacket, the very 80s-esque bleached denim look means that pairing it with jeans is a chic, easy way of rocking the potentially tricky double denim look.

I wore my jacket with J Brand skinny jeans; my beloved jeans are so worn now, I will have to take them to my tailor soon to be patched & mended! I added over-the-knee boots and a neutral black satchel for a relaxed, down-time look.
